Geoff Brower was a 6-5 guard from Fort Walton Beach, Florida who played for Florida State from 1994 to 1998. He appeared as a freshman in 1994-95 averaging 1.0 points and 1.5 rebounds, then had his best season as a redshirt-freshman in 1995-96, starting 9 of 26 games and averaging 6.7 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 43.6% from the field and 38.0% from three-point range. He was later listed as a redshirt junior for the 1997-98 Seminoles.

After FSU, Brower transferred to Lander University (1998-2000) where he became one of the program's all-time greats. He led Lander to its only Elite Eight appearance in 1999, was a First-Team NABC All-American in 2000, a two-time All-Peach Belt Conference selection and MVP of the 1999 South Atlantic Regional Tournament. In just two seasons at Lander he scored 1,032 points (16.7 ppg) and was named Lander Male Athlete of the Year in 1999-2000.
