Tyrone Curtis Muggsy Bogues
Charlotte Hornets, Point Guard (1988-97)
Beckett Authentication: WH26469
Tyrone "Muggsy" Bogues — 5'3" (1.60m), the shortest player in NBA history, and somehow one of the best point guards of the 90s.
Drafted 12th overall by Washington in 1987 after leading Wake Forest, he played 14 seasons in the NBA — Washington, Charlotte (where he's a legend), Golden State, and Toronto.
In Charlotte from 1988-97 he was the engine for the Hornets with Larry Johnson and Alonzo Mourning — all-time leader for the franchise in assists (5,557) and steals (1,067). He wasn't just a novelty act: elite speed, insane court vision, averaged 7.7 pts and 7.6 assists for his career, led the NBA in assist-to-turnover ratio, and famously blocked 39 shots including one on Patrick Ewing who was 28 inches taller.
After retirement he coached, owned a WNBA team, and his story is still the ultimate underdog proof — drafted same year as David Robinson, Reggie Miller, and Scottie Pippen, he outlasted almost all of them.
